Regional Training and Exercise Strategy

The purpose of the Regional Training and Exercise Strategy is to coordinate county training and exercises, expand regional collaboration, and more efficiently use Federal, State and local funding and resources in order to enhance regional preparedness.  The Strategy is regional in approach and encompasses the counties in the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) which include Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Morrow, Pickaway, and Union.  FCEM&HS’s focus, through deliberate emphasis on training and exercises, is to improve the region’s ability to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from all-hazards.

Regional Training and Exercise Committee (RTEC)

In 2011, FCEM&HS initiated a Regional Training and Exercise Committee for the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) which includes Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Morrow, Pickaway, and Union.  The mission of the Regional Training and Exercise Committee (RTEC) is to coordinate training and exercises, expand regional collaboration, and more efficiently use Federal, State and local funding and resources in order to enhance regional preparedness for all hazards through the Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

Regional Training and Exercise Plan (TEP)

The purpose of the Regional Multiyear Training and Exercise Plan (TEP) is to provide a companion docu­ment to the Franklin County Regional Training and Exercise Strategy. It is a living document that will be updated and refined annually. The TEP provides a roadmap for the MSA Counties to follow in accomplishing the goals and objectives described in the Franklin County Regional Training and Exercise Strategy.  Included in the TEP are the training and exercises that are scheduled in the MSA counties.   To view a copy of the 2017-2020 Regional TEP: Regional Training and Exercise Plan (TEP) 2017-2020.

Franklin County Training and Exercise Committee (FCTEC)

In 2012, FCEM&HS initiated the Franklin County Training and Exercise Committee.  The mission of the Franklin County Training and Exercise Committee is to continue to evaluate Franklin County’s training and exercise gaps, de-conflict local training and exercises, and share information with the Regional Training and Exercise Committee (RTEC) in order to more efficiently use Federal, State and local funding and resources to enhance regional preparedness for all hazards.

Franklin County Training and Exercise Planning Workshop (TEPW)  The Training and Exercise Planning Workshop (TEPW) is an annual meeting that brings together multi-discipline representatives from throughout the county to discuss training and exercises needs and develop a multi-year training and exercise schedule that will help enhance core capabilities and close gaps in the county.

Franklin County Training and Exercise Plan (TEP)

The purpose of the Multiyear Training and Exercise Plan (TEP) is to provide a companion docu­ment to the Franklin County Regional Training and Exercise Strategy. It is a living document that will be updated and refined annually.
